design The principle of jet aeration is a Venturi effect. When the primary flow from the pump goes through a reduced nozzle a pressure difference occurs thus drawing down air through the suction pipe into the ejector. This causes turbulence in the mixing zone where the water and air flows are mixed into a liquid jet. The jet shoots out of the ejector into the tank.

Both the Flygt N-pump technology and the Flygt designed nozzle are clog-free features that enable the use of the jet aerators even in tough sludge applications.
In more corrosive or abrasive applications the hard iron impeller will be the best choice for higher resistance.
